This week we are completing our DIY hand towel bunnies writing assignment. It will take seven days to complete the Bunny's Adventure Journal. The students were excited to make their own tiny hand towel bunnies. This is the perfect spring activity for reluctant writers.
Day 1: Follow directions to make bunny.
Writing assignment: How to make a hand towel bunny
Day 2: Journal entry: As you carry your bunny around with you, think about its day. Write about your bunny’s daily adventures.
Day 3: Journal entry
Day: 4 Journal entry
Day 5: Creative Narrative- Imagine that your bunny is real. Create an adventure for your tiny bunny.
Day 6: Journal entry
Day 7 (option 1): Write a persuasive letter to your teacher to convince your teacher why you should get to keep your bunny.
Day 7: (option 2): Make a 2nd hand towel bunny and give to another student as a gift. Write how it felt to do an act of kindness
The students' bunnies turned out unique and adorable. They are excited about carrying them around with them for a week. On the last day, they will give their bunny to another student in the Autism Unit. They will write in their journal about their act of kindness.
